SUMMER 2000

A research meeting is planned to bring people with similar interests to discuss various research projects related to quantum field theory and non-commutative geometry, operator theory in relation to physics.

Organizing Committee: Ismail Hakkı Duru (Chair), Metin Arık, Osman Teoman Turgut

There has always been a close contact between quantum theory and mathematics. Especially quantum field theory we see a deep relation with several ideas in mathematics. The purpose of the program is to bring together specialists with interests in quantum field theory as well as researchers who work in non-commutative geometry and operator algebras which has intimate conection to quantum theory.

The aim is to promote research by bringing various scientists together providing an atmosphere to discuss and exchange ideas. Furthermore there will be lectures by the visitors on these subjects to give some background for graduate students and junior faculty as wel as more up-to-date information for the researchers in the field.
